Model Inspiration #1 ~ Twiggy
Hello There!
I have a confession to make... I'm a little bit in love with Twiggy (real name; Lesley Hornby).
I've always loved her style and she was and still is such an inspiration to the fashion world. Another thing which makes me love her even more - her great cockney accent!
I was really interested to see if Twiggy had done anything recently in fashion (as i know she did launch a line of clothing called 'Twiggy Dresses' in 1966 but those dresses, I'm sure, would be very hard to get hold of! Also, I wanted to see how 'The Face of '66''s style had adapted to the modern era and what she was doing now - as much as I love the 60's!) so I did a little research and found that Twiggy has launched her Winter Collection with M&S.
Here are a few photos of ones which particularly caught my eye:

In Twiggy's M&S Winter collection there are many items which I like but these ones seemed to appeal to me most. I think, even though I really like it, some of the items in the collection look great but I don't think would suit me! In some of the items Iv'e put another photo underneath to show the detail that has gone in to this collection.
I really like the buttons which say 'Twiggy' on; it's a personal touch which shows more thought has gone into the design.
Here are some of Twiggy's outfits from her earlier seasons with M&S which I like:
(This outfit is actually from a photo shoot with GoodHousekeeping - not from her M&S collection but I just wanted to point out that I like her style in this photograph).
As much as I love the now 63-year-old Twiggy's modern style - I will always get my first inspiration of 1960's fashion and think of Twiggy from the teenager that changed the face of the 60's. When her modelling career was at its prime she completely changed the look of style - a girl who painted on her eyelashes, had short hair, a boyish figure and a style mixed with mod and completely Twiggy; the girl was golden.
I really look up to Twiggy for many ways; of which is that she stayed true to herself and was so involved with everything she did (and still does!).

Model Inspiration Mini Series

I've had a little idea!
As you can probably guess from the title I'm going to start a mini series that will be about fashion (and maybe a little beauty) inspiration from some of my favourite models.
Each 'segment', if you like, of the series will comment on the models style, career, what I like about it etc. Hopefully, it will provide some more fashion inspiration and knowledge of the legendary ((in my opinion and many others) people in the series!
I hope you like this little mini series idea, and I'd love to hear back from you about your ideas too!
Who is your favourite model? If you don't have one, maybe you will by the end of this series;-)

Oxford University
Hello again!
Todays post is a little different form the usual - Oxford University.
A few days ago I went on a trip to Wadham College (one of the colleges in Oxford University) and absolutely fell in love. As well as the very relaxed feeling (surprising for a school with scarily high expectations) to the campus, it was a beautiful place. On our tour around the college we saw lots of different rooms which the students at Wadham use regularly - and also some private ones.
The whole site is very Harry Potter-esque. Here is a photo of the Main Quad:
When we arrived this was the view we saw as we walked in - impressive, right? But it gets better...
The gorgeous Great Hall. Yes, amazingly they do actually call it that ( I told you it was Harry Potter-esque).

Another Great Hall shot. At Wadham they don't have the day when you have to wear robes to dinner, so a lot of the time people even come in a onesie!
Imagine this being the entrance to your school. Wow.
Here is a floor plan of the college. I'm not sure how old this is but now you can even walk on the roves to rooftop gardens!
Even though Wadham has all of these beautiful buildings on site (including Their own theatre and underground music room), it's it enough; no it needed to be even better- they even have a church inside the college...!
A giant organ is situated at the head of the personal-to-Wadham church.
Beautiful and intricate designs cover the building.
Getting into Oxford would be a very hard procedure (here are the Entrance Requirements for Oxford University). However, once there, there are many perks. Despite the fact that it is one of the most famous University's worldwide, there are also many privileges about going to University there. For example:
- As your'e an Oxford student you get lots of opportunities to go to different countries (trips are funded by the Uni)
- Everyone is a lot closer as the numbers of the colleges are much smaller than your average shool (ranging from about 200 -400),
- There is a 25m swimming pool at Wadham which is free to use (yep, no £££'s)
- There are many sports team to get involved with,
- Mini Festivals are held at Wadham for students and tutors alike - one of while is called Wadstock ( haha, very punny ;-) ),
- There are often Art Weeks at Wadham where there are many different activitys going on throughout the week (i.e Salsa class, Chalking the colleges pathways with designs, painting in the college gardens)
- Lastly, (although I cold go on) Oxford is a beautiful city full of amazing sops, things to see and o and also happens to hold the King's Arms (Wadham's local) which has annual sightings of Hugh Grant!
To get into Oxford you need to be passionate about what you're applying for - not just doing it because it will look good on your CV (and they'll suss oh out if you're faking ;-) ).
Although you have to work extremely hard to be in with the chance of getting into Oxford University, the University also provides a lot of leisurely opportunities which I would love the get involved in.
From descriptions by tutors and students at Wadham, it seems like a really fast - paced, friendly environment which I dare to dream to be involved in ... I better get studying!

Blindfold Makeup Challenge
Hi there!
Yes, I know what you are thinking; we look totally gorgeous here!;-)
Yesterday my fellow blogger friend Beth and I, for some unknown reason, decided to do the blindfolded makeup challenge.
We did make a video which will not be posted to the World Wide Web, because let me tell you; it's awfully embarrassing. In addition, we filmed it on my laptop, outside which didn't result in the best quality really.
It was fun to film and we had a bundle of laughs in the making of it, so I reckoned anybody who is reading this to have a go at it sometime.
