Autumn Fashion

Hello there!

Apparently, the 22nd of September was the last day of Summer this year, so today I'll be doing an autumn fashion inspiration blog!

The fashion of autumn is all about the rustic colours; browns, oranges, hints of green, reds, creams and more.
Autumn is associated with the falling of leaves, the weather getting cooler, furry jumpers, hot chocolate, Halloween and cosy days.
I can't wait to get a pair of Aztec fluffy gloves on and drink hot chocolate outside; there is always something good to find in each season!

So, here i'll show you some autumn-y inspirational outfits, which I like!

I love this outfit so much! I think the material goes really well with the yellow knitted cardigan and the tights compliment the outfit even more.

Patterned jumpers are always an 'in' at this time of year and I can't wait to stock up on my seasons worth!

As you might be able to tell I love the spotty theme- the dress before and the tights here. Also, I love these shoes and the frills are so cute!

I really like this outfit but I think it could look a bit better with some accessories. For example, a rustic looking scarf or necklace would make the outfit look a little more 'autumnish'.

As I said before, the falling of leaves is what autumn is all about. This outfit is more themed with the browns and oranges. I love the messy bun style and it fits very well with the big knitted scarf.

This is more for the beginning of autumn as you'd get a little chilly - however, I do love the contrast of the black PVC looking dress and brown colours. In addition, the lace on top of the dress compliments the outfit too. For anybody wanting to achieve this look, I'd suggest finding a Peter Pan Neckline necklace (if you can't find an already-attached-to-the dress-one) as they always turn out well.

I'm pretty much in love with this jumper, and usually I'm more of a colours fan; I love this pattern! I think it'd look great with some brown skinny jeans, some chunky bracelets and a loosely knitted beanie.

This one isn't as autumn fashioned as the others but, styled with the right things I think it could be achieved!

Again, the oversized patterned jumper! Something to point out here is, her hair is dyed a lovely auburn type colour which I adore.

I love the bag this girl is styling! I think the outfit is lacking something but I just can't put my finger on it. However, I do like this outfit for a cosy day with friends.

I love these colours! Everything contrasts so well in this photo, it's gorgeous. I love this jacket so much and I recommend this style for anyone.

I know this isn't the most autumn looking outfit but I love this coat and I can imagine it being worn on a crisp autumn evening.

I can imagine this sort of outfit being worn by someone whilst they are sat in a coffee shop with their legs tucked underneath them with a doodle pad- awwawaw cute image now! Anyway, I think this will be great for anyone at the cosy October time and anyone will be able to pull it off.

I love this so much! Yellow is my favourite colour, and as it dominates this outfit, I obviously like it. Aside from that fact, I really like the style. The long baggy jumper is made to look classy with the vintage looking hat and cute black bag. I can imagine this outfit being worn in one of the fashion capitals in the autumn season.

Here is an outfit I concocted with a few bits from my wardrobe for an end of summer/beginning of autumn style.
                   [taken by iPhone]

As it was only the start of autumn when I put this together it still involves more light colours than the rustic ones displayed earlier. I think something which could have made it better would be some more chunky bracelets,  something on the neck ie. a scarf or necklace or just adding some more layers.

Personally, I love the fashion in autumn because I love all of the colours, the layering and all of the lovely material that's used! Also, I am quite a cold person so it's great to be able to wear these big jumpers and hats etc.
In addition, I'm a big fan of the Boho style ; often that is quite frequent in the autumnal fashion so this is a bonus. :-)
Well, that's all for this post but I hope I've given you some autumn inspiration!
What is your favourite thing to wear in autumn?
I will leave you with this photograph of some warm snuggly jumpers!

Bye for now

A Tour of my Shopping Trip

Hello everyone!
A few weeks ago I went shopping with my lovely friend, Sarah!
I bought a few things, (I just couldn't resist!) and we went into lots of different shops.
It was a day of trying on, browsing, smelling perfumes and eating willy wonkas sweets! I'll show you a few pictures from the day here.

We spotted L'Occitaine and were enticed in by there lovely smells.
Even better, we were offered pink lemonade in champagne glasses... classy!;-)
I liked how everything in the shop was a category of different colours. Here is part of the pink section (smelling of cherry blossom and roses):

We also went into Zara, a shop I love!
My friend had told me that they had lots of nice perfumes in there so we headed over to the perfume section when I saw this beauty:
I love this perfume bottle the most! I can't remember how much it was (helpful I know) but I'll put a link at the bottom of this post to its online form for anyone who loves this as much as I do!

The next photo I have is of where we bought our drinks. Before you see it, don't judge the calories before you try something from this amazing shop!
Yep, Shakeaway. I had an oreo and something or other one- delicious! Have you ever tried a Shakeaway? If so, what's your favourite?
Obviously, since the main thing here is fashion I'm going to show you some of the things I tried on/bought.

1.
This jumper is something I really love. As I'm quite petite I had to get a smaller size therefore some things are different to other sizes i.e the size of the fox, bagginess etc. Its a really light material that will be great for the autumn season. In addition, I love the colour!
Even though, in the end I didn't purchase this item I recommend anyone who likes the look of it to at least try it on!

2.
This is a chiffon material and is a sort of wrap around style which I like quite a bit.
It's a great top for formal or informal events. However, I didn't purchase this as I don't think I'd get enough wear out of it for the price that it is.

3.
I really love this peplem top and I did end up buying it. It's got a-sort-of-crocheted pattern on it even though it's printed on. I love the peplem design as it goes with lots of things, looks good on virtually everyone and many other reasons.
I tried on a few other things but didnt get photos of them, so that's all on the fashion front for this post!

Whilst we were walking along we noticed a new sweet shop called (ironically) Oldde Sweet Shop.
We loved it, it's filled to the brim with American sweets and cereals which we don't have here! Also, there were big jars of old style sweets like bon bons, jelly sweets, chocolate and more. Another thing which we loved was the WONKA sweets there! I bought a packet of Everlasting Gobbstopers and they are delicious!
Here are some pics of this great place:

So, yeah, obviously I liked the sweet shop^_^

I hope you liked this post! Let me know if you've got anything you'd like me to do a post on.
Bye for now!

n.b. These photos were all taken on an iPhone so, excuse the lack of good quality;)

The Book Thief

Hi everyone!
Today I'll be writing about the heart warming and heart wrenching book; The Book Thief.

This book is a story of loss, love, childhood, war and so much more.
The novel is based around a girl called Liesel Meminger. At age 9 she is given away for adoption because her mother can't afford to keep her and her brother alive in the poverty which they live in.

Set in Nazi Germany, Hans and Rosa Hubermann take in the skinny, scared girl and teach her about life. Hans is a man with silvery eyes and a love for the accordion and rolling cigarettes. He is the first person to be kind to Liesel at her new home, 33 Himmel Street. Hans understands Liesel and is a man with many hidden qualities.
Rosa Hubermann is a stern woman who underneath all the insults she throws at her foster daughter, loves her dearly. Rosa is a determined woman who will do everything she can to keep her family alive.
Both characters create a great contrast yet 'yin and yang' relationship. What i mean by this is that although the two adults personalities are very different they work very well together and certainly create a great plot for the book. In addition, i think the saying 'opposites attract' applies here.

Narrated by Death, the novel follows Liesel through the ages of about 9 - 14.
Her life changes dramatically when she finds a book beside her younger brothers graveside. It's the start of Liesels journey in book thievery!
The ever growing and mysterious girl steals books from the mayors wife's library, the Nazi book burnings and is even give a few by the Jew hidden in her foster families basement.
The Book Thief's main plot points are when the book thief steals her next book, or rather is given one.

However, there is more to this novel than a young girl stealing some books. As it is set in Nazi Germany, of course there will be something to hide.
I don't want to give too much away as I do seriously recommend anybody to read this beautiful book.
The 581 page long book is full of gripping plot. Sometimes told in monologue and others simply told straight from Liesel's hand written biography by Death.
There are 10 parts to this book along with an epilogue; the parts are more like long chapter split up into lots of little chapters. Along the way Death points out little extra bits of information, hints and opinions.
Here is one of these:

I have fallen in love with this book, its characters and its amazing ability to leave me mesmerised about a life in the past and an amazing journey through every emotion possible.
This book is told in depth yet simplistically. It is breathtaking to watch Liesel's world open up and close down.
I seriously recommend anybody read this wonderful novel.

Bye for now!

Harry Potter Studio Tour

So, last week or so (the 15th) I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. It deserves  a 1000 star rating, it was AMAZING!
Me, some family and my friend Beth (introducingbeth.blogspot.co.uk) went there for my birthday and I loved it!
Whilst I was there I saw so many great things including:
Dobby, (eek!:D)
Buckbeak,
Gryffindor Common Room and Boys Dormitory,
The Great Hall, (omg it was wonderful!!!)
The Fat Lady,
Mirror of Erised,
Dumbledores Office and some of his outfits and so much more!
If you are a Harry Potter fan (or even just like it a bit) I highly recommend you go there if you have the chance!
In the Gift Shop I got a few things, here's a picture if what I purchased:

1. Butterbeer Tankard.
This was originally filled with the mouth wateringly delicious Butterbeer!
2. Luna Lovegoods Wand
It is very pretty, wooden and swishy! It sort of looks like a broomstick when it's on it's side! Luna is my favourite character so that's why I chose her wand.
3. The item with Dobby on the front is my ticket ^.^
4. The little blue book on the left is my Harry Potter Passport which you can get free. It's it lots of little things to do in it!
5. Next to this is a little Hufflepuff pin which has the Quidditch Banner and 2 broomsticks. I'm a Hufflepuff so that's why I chose this.
6. The black book in the middle has the Hogwarts emblem on it and yellow blank pages inside. I'm going to use it as a sort if diary.
7. Under everything is the Harry Potter Studio Tour Guide Book with loads of cool things in it! Inside is things like the fold out pages which talks about all the props! Did you know over 3,000 wands were used for the Films?!
8. On the right of the little black book is Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans. I'm a bit nervous to try them!!
9. Below this is an iron on Hufflepuff badge.

As you can tell I really enjoyed going here and hope I can go again sometime! It's truly magical.
Oh, and I couldn't forget Hogwarts!

Cosmetic Favorites!

Hello Again!

There are so many brands of cosmetics - and so many great ones!
From lip glosses to shampoo heres a few of my most recent cosmetic favourites!

Firstly, I really like I Love... cosmetics. I have a few of their products and I've got to say they are great!
One of my favourite lip glosses is one of theirs.
I think this gloss is lovely! I like it  because of quite a few reasons:
a) I've had it for something like almost a year, use it everyday, and it's still no where near finished!
b) It's colour is great, and it really goes well with a lot of different looks. For example, you could wear it on the top of a bright lippy, on its own with some natural looking make up, combined with lighter lippys with pinky eyeshadows or even blacks!
c) It really lives up to it's name - it smells sublime!
d) It lives up to it's name in more ways than one, it stays on for ages and stays glossy for ages too!

Another really nice gloss of theirs if your'e more of a pinky colours fan is I Love.... Strawberries and Milksake. Another I Love... product my family owns is the Coconut & Cream Body Butter. This is also very nice! I'm not usually a fan of Coconut products but I really like this!

Next is Treacle Moon's glorious bath and shower gel- My Coconut Island. I LOVE this! It smells delicious and is really smooth and basically it's just amazing!
Sadly, we recently ran out of this - but there is a reason why! It's great! To be honest, I haven't used it in the shower but whenever I've had a bath that is a must have!
Seriously, this product is wonderful!

Now, I've mentioned smells a lot but I think this spray has got to be my  favourite smell! (along with cherry bakewells that is - haha I love them! ;-) )
I wear this quite a lot and I really like it! There's not really much else to say about it!

2true liquid eyeliner- not a well known brand but I like this eyeliner because it sleek, easy to use and I think it looks good! Also, unlike some liquid eyeliners you don't have to re apply the eyeliner all the time - it stays on for quite a while and its waterproof! Another good thing is the brush stays wet for quite a long time so you don't have to keep dunking it back in to get more liquid on the brush.

My hair is quite fine so, obviously I use fine hair shampoo and conditioners. And if you have hair like mine you'll know that it's not always easy to find a great fine hair shampoo. But no fear my friends, I have found the solution! Pantene Aqualight Fine Hair Shampoo & Conditioner is great! After using it my hair feels more soft and smooth than with some other brands I've used before.

The Body Shop Section...

I really like the products from Body Shop - I find that everything I've had from there has been really nice!

1) Strawberry body butter- I really like to use this after I've been in the shower. It makes the skin feel soft and prevents it from getting dry. An added bonus is that it smells gorgeous!
2) Strawberry puree body lotion- I really like the strawberry products! They really do smell great! Also, this has a really 'silky' feel to it.
3) Tea tree oil- this is really soothing stuff. If you have any spots at the moment I recommend using this.  When I've used it on them before you can notice the difference after a short space of time. However don't confuse this with essential oils. They need to be diluted first or they can react badly with the skin.

More Make-up Section

I love this! I was given it at Christmas and I love it! It's made with Castor Sugar and Jojoba Oil and acts as a gentle scrub and is 'to be wonderfully moisturising but light enough not to leave you feeling greasy.'

I only recently purchased this and didn't have any gel eyeliners either. My friend showed me it and I really like it so far! Do you have any gel eyeliner? I find that this one seems quite easy to apply and it's very handy as the brush it stuck into the lid at the top- pretty cool, huh?!

I like this mascara because its not too chunky but not too small. It never causes 'clumps' and it stays on for a long time - you have to wipe it off at the end of the day and none of it's even come off yet! Also, the brush is curved to make you eyelashes look curled, making your eyes look bigger. So, yeah, I like this one! I've had it for quite a while now and I'm still liking it.

Drumstick Lip Balm
Right, this is a bit of a silly one but to be honest I still love it! It smells really nice and keeps my lips soft! It's a bit of a gimmick but still I like it- haha! You can get these anywhere; eBay, Superdrug, Claires etc.

I actually love this! I wear it most days of the week and except from it being the coolest thing ever it's a really cool shade! If you haven't heard of these yet they're basically a green lipstick that when but onto skin (or anywhere for that matter) turns a sort of reddy pinky colour! So except from the gimmicky side it is really cool! The colour is really nice and you get the added bonus of your friends thinking it's awesome! Occasionally there will be a few funny looks if you put it on in public though - hahaha! But I'd go as fa as saying that it's my favourite lipstick of 2013 so far!

As you can see I really like Barry M Lipsticks! This colour is cute and it's not actually as bright as it looks in the photo. It's really nice to wear if your'e going out with friends, going shopping, summer time, or perhaps want to brighten up your look/outfit. I quite like this lippy but it's not for everyday wear! This shade is 146.

Next up is a product I've found very useful this past week or so. Aloe Lips with Jojoba, a Forever Living product, is really useful. The website says it is 'Moisturising conditioning balm for lips that soothes and provides protection in hot and cold temperatures. A handy pocket size stick easy to carry at all times. Suitable for use on other parts of the body to calm irritated skin.' And I could not agree more! It proved very useful when I had a cold, to put on dry lips and could also act as a 'vaseline for the nose!' I highly recommend getting this!

So, that was my recent cosmetic favorites - I hope you like it!
I hope you find any of this useful and invest in anything from the list!
If you liked any of the products be sure to click on the links (their names) to check them out.
If you liked any of the products mentioned or have one or more of them please feel free to let me know in the comments!

I hope you have a fabulous week!
Adéu!
(that's goodbye in Catalan!)

St. Patricks Day & Harry Potter

Dia duit gach duine!
(that means 'Hello everyone!' in Irish!)

I thought I'd put todays hello in Irish since it's St. Patricks Day! Do you celebrate it? I'm a quarter Irish so we sort of do.

Firstly, sorry I haven't posted in a week! So, to make up for it, today I will give you 2 posts!

BOOK REVEIW...

Recently I finished the Harry Potter series and I cannot believe how amazing it was! I know people don't always think it will be their cup of tea, however, I didn't either but trust me it is truly amazing!
The series by J.K Rowling is really well thought out. There is a lot of times when you just brush over things and then later realise why that was put there and there is a massive light bulb moment.
Also, the books don't fit into just one genre- they have so much going on that it's not just fantasy. The series is a great read for children and adults alike.
When I finished reading the Deathly Hallows, I couldn't believe it. I felt like I just didn't know what to do with myself - as you can see it had a massive impact on me!
It's amazing how someone could have though up such an amazing thing. It's like she created a world inside our own world, if you know what I mean!
Another great thing about the books is the wonderful detail! Like the Butterbeer, chocolate frogs, talking paintings and more! It's a world anyone can escape to by words. I wish I really could go to Hogwarts - wow that would be amazing!
I highly recommend  for you to read the series! It is very well worth it! I really want to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - it looks amazing!
If you haven't read them yet I really hope you do - it's really worth it.

Slán go fóill!
(Bye for now!)

Save a Life...

Hello Everyone!

Sorry this post is late, It's due to the fact that last night I was watching a film for Comic Relief. It's called Mary and Martha and the meaning to it is very sad.
In today's post I'd like to talk about the horrible disease of Malaria.
I didn't realise how big it is and how awful it actually is.
Did you know that malaria kills nearly 2 million people a year?
And that 85% of those people are children?
There is so many needless deaths to innocent people because they don't have the right protection.
A mosquito net is only £10 yet millions are still suffering and dying.

In Mary and Martha 2 males (11 and 24 years old) go out to Africa for two different reasons. The mother of the younger thought everything would be fine, Malaria wouldn't effect him because it was winter.
Well, it did.
The man of 24 gave all of his Malaria pills away to the children at the orphanage he was volunteering at. He thought that if it happened to him he'd be strong enough to fight it.
But, he wasn't.
And the worst thing is, Mary and Martha was based on a true story.
I found out, from my headteacher, this afternoon that the 24 year old went to my school when he was alive.
That shows how close to home it is.

Everyone seems to be in an illusion that it happens so far away and it could never happen to anyone near us. Well, that's wrong. It does happen to people near us. People just like us.

But, yes, it does happen a whole lot more in under-privileged country's. Places where they cant even afford money for a net.
Imagine if it was someone in your family dying from Malaria. Imagine you couldn't do anything to save them. Even if there was a hospital, sometimes the closest ones are hours away.

Donating even just £1 to Comic Relief can help someone. People are struggling and dying of Malaria right now. They need your help.
A little amount of money to you can go a long way to someone else.
You don't have to just donate, you could 'do something funny for money' and raise the money instead.
There's loads of ways you can help- big or small, it all counts.
You can make a difference between life and death.
If you donate then you won't just help change someone's life but you'll help them keep it.

2 million deaths to a disease which can prevented with our help...
Your help?
Do your bit here.
